A Bad Case of Humanity
I’m currently re-watching Cheers. Not only is this show the clear prototype for all modern sitcoms, it also contains a fair amount of great writing. Last night, one phrase stuck with me in particular:
You’ve come down with a bad case of humanity. A malady characterised by bouts of compassion, warmth and caring. I mean, who knows — this thing could go on for the rest of your life.
